Antenna Design

Antenna design has been performed applying Full-Wave detailed modeling method and sensitivity analysis.

The whole antenna system is composed of three sub-units:

  1. The radiating panel composed of 24x24 patches organized in 24 rows. Each row has its own series fed feeding network responsible of the pattern shaping on the horizontal plane. Radiating elements are coupled with the feeding line through ground plane slots properly dimensioned to shape the radiating mask as decided

  2. A corporate fed beam forming network combining the 24 rows to shape the pattern on the vertical plane

  3. A hybrid combiner to generate the proper phase relation in order to get the vertical and horizontal polarization
